Projects and Associations

Member of W3C SWD and GRDDL WGs, RDFa TF

W3C Semantic Web Logo - Open Data CubeThanks to IWA/HWG, I represent the association in the following W3C Activities:

from Semantic Web Deployment:

The mission of this Working Group is to provide guidance in the form of W3C Technical Reports on issues of practical RDF development and deployment practices in the areas of publishing vocabularies, OWL usage, and integrating RDF with HTML documents.

from Gleaning Resource Descriptions from Dialects of Languages:

The mission of this Working Group is to complement the concrete RDF/XML syntax with a mechanism to relate other XML syntaxes (especially XHTML dialects or "microformats") to the RDF abstract syntax via transformations identified by URIs.

from Resource Description Framework Annotation:

RDFa is a syntax for expressing this structured data in XHTML. The rendered, hypertext data of XHTML is reused by the RDFa markup, so that publishers don't repeat themselves. The underlying abstract representation is RDF, which lets publishers build their own vocabulary, extend others, and evolve their vocabulary with maximal interoperability over time.

TOP 100 Reviewer of McAfee Site Advisor

Site Advisor Logofrom Site Advisor site:

SiteAdvisor was founded in April 2005 by a group of MIT engineers who wanted to make the Web safer for their family and friends. Having spent one too many holiday breaks trying to clean a mess of spam, adware, and spyware from our families' computers, we decided to take action.

We realized there was a gaping hole in existing Web security products. While traditional security companies had gotten relatively good at addressing technical threats like viruses, they were failing to prevent a new breed of "social engineering" tricks like spyware infections, identity theft scams, and sites which send excessive e-mail.

SMAU eAcademy 2008 - Web of the Future: Semantic Web + Web Marketing = Semarketing, when the whole is greater than the sum of the parts

SMAU 2008Also this year at SMAU, the biggest event in Italy for ICT, I'm presenting a seminar on Semantic Web for all, not only techical people. You can also register on-line for seminar.

"Business has only two functions - marketing and innovation."

Listening Kundera's quotation we can take the link from whis two topics which - otherwise - there are not clearly linked: Web Marketing, techniques and tools to develop the market and business on the web, and Semantic Web, the Framework for linked datas for sharing it from application to communities and from communities to enterprise.

We'll ask how Marketing and Innovation can be fused in order to get huge advantages with less stress. We can add more power to Contents - also if already exist - powering the data reuse, and get the best from our Strategies.

Technics plus Marketing: The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Web and Business as a unique system - per scomodare Aristotele and Gestalt psychologists - like a melody with clearly distinct sounds in powerful chord.

After a brief introduction we'll see innovative Semantic Web technologies and how we can use it for maketing, in order to build our future.

SMAU e-AcademyIn 2007 at SMAU, the biggest event in Italy for ICT, I'm presenting a seminar on Semantic Web for all, not only techical people. You can also register on-line for seminar.

"The Web was designed as an information space, with the goal that it should be useful not only for human-human communication, but also that machines would be able to participate and help."

Tim Berners-Lee, creator of the Web, explain us that WWW in not only for human-human communication and that, for a lot of functions, machines would be able to help and work for us. This is possible with Semantic Web: a network of (meta)data undestrandable by machines and computable in an automated way using Logic. Not only for saving our time, also opening infinite possibilies of deployment and innovation. In this "Blue Ocean" - quoting Kim W. Chan and Mauborgne Renée. During seminar after a brief introduction to Semantic Web World, we'll see applications, possibilities and how is simple and affrodable entering in the Web of the Future - superpassing the "Web 2.0" - showing secrects of Resource Description Framework (RDF), Gleaning Resource Description from Dialects of Languages (GRDDL), Friend Of A Friend (FOAF), Description Of A Project (DOAP), Semantically Interlinked Online Communities (SIOC), Dublin Core (DC), Microformats and more.

Semantics

To ensure Semantics uses Semantic Structured XHTML. RDF and Dialects: FOAF, ICRA Labels, CC License, DCMI, vCard, iCal, DOAP, hCard, hCalendar, hDOAP, XFN Friendly Links, Geo Tag, OpenID. Most RDF are extracted and gleaned live with GRDDL using an XSLT. But the power of Semantic Web is not only for RDF to RDF!
